AI for People Pledge

At OTP, we believe technology exists to serve people, not replace them. Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool, but it is not a substitute for human purpose, creativity, accountability, or dignity.

We therefore make the following pledge:

Our Pledge

We commit that we will not eliminate jobs solely for the purpose of replacing people with AI

AI at OTP will be used to:

  • Augment human capability
  • Reduce unnecessary burden and toil
  • Improve quality, safety, and consistency
  • Enable our people to do more meaningful, higher-value work

AI will never be used as a justification to remove employees simply because a task can be automated.

What This Pledge Does Not Mean

This pledge does not eliminate accountability or performance expectations.

We affirm that:

  • Employees are expected to perform the responsibilities of their role
  • Performance issues will be addressed fairly, directly, and humanely
  • Roles may evolve as technology changes
  • Training and adaptation are part of professional growth

Employment decisions may still be made when:

  • An employee is unwilling or unable to perform the essential duties of their role
  • There is a persistent failure to meet documented expectations
  • Behavioral, ethical, or cultural standards are violated

These decisions will never be driven by the mere presence or deployment of AI.

Our Commitment to Growth

When AI changes how work is done, we commit to:

  • Reskilling before replacing
  • Redeploying before removing
  • Training before terminating

We will give our people the opportunity to grow alongside AI, not be displaced by it.

Why This Matters

Work provides more than income, it provides purpose, dignity, and belonging
Replacing people simply because technology allows it creates fear, erodes trust, and undermines culture.

We choose a different path.

We choose people first

Take the AI for People Pledge

We will never replace people with AI!
Our commitment is to use AI to support, empower, and elevate people, not eliminate them.
